Mahindra recently announced a significant milestone for their Bolero SUV. The Bolero brand crossed the 1 lakh sales mark in sales in FY 2022-23. This achievement adds to the over 14 lakh units of Bolero SUVs sold since its introduction in 2000. The Bolero's rugged underpinnings, boxy SUV styling and fairly reliable mechanicals have made it a successful product, especially in the smaller cities and rural areas. Meanwhile, the more polished Bolero Neo finds more buyers in the urban environment. The exact factory dispatches for the Bolero classic and Bolero Neo stand at 1,00,487 for the financial year 2022-23.

The latest sales achievement of the Bolero brand is the success of the Bolero Neo, which went on sale in July 2021. According to Mahindra, the Bolero Neo customers are relatively younger, and a greater percentage of them come from salaried and self-employed backgrounds. It’s a lot more feature rich and has better quality interiors, which better meet the needs of city dwellers. Meanwhile, it has the potential to traverse through rough patches without the much need for pampering.

The Classic Bolero continues with a sales growth of over 28% in FY 2023 compared to FY 2022. Its appeal as a reliable and versatile workhorse with seating for 7 people and the ability to tackle tough terrain has made it a favourite for many SUV buyers over the 20 years of its life. Together, the Bolero and Bolero Neo bring the authentic SUV feel to the compact SUV segment.

As the Bolero SUV remains popular and in high demand, Mahindra remain dedicated to providing customers with the support they need to keep their Bolero SUVs running with good parts and service support through their widespread network.

About the Bolero’s achievement, Veejay Nakra, president, automotive sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said:

"With over 1.4 million sales in total, the Bolero has become more than just an SUV; it has become a household name in semi-urban and rural India. 1 lakh sales in FY 2023, a testament to the unwavering trust and loyalty of our cherished customers. The Bolero Neo launched in July 2021, has successfully extended the Bolero SUV brand to the new customer segments in tier 1 and urban markets."
