Kia India have reached a significant milestone by producing 15 lakh ‘Make in India’ vehicles at their manufacturing facility in Anantapur. The milestone vehicle was the Kia Carens MPV.

To commemorate this achievement, Kia India also announced the official reveal of the new Carens on May 8. The upcoming Carens is expected to be safer and pack more features than the current Carens, reinforcing Kia’s commitment to delivering future-ready mobility solutions.

Gwanggu Lee, Managing Director and CEO of Kia India, expressed his pride and gratitude on this occasion, stating: 

“Rolling out our 1.5 millionth 'Make in India' vehicle is a proud and emotional moment for Kia India and every partner who has been a part of this journey. From the very first Seltos to the 1.5 millionth Carens today, each car stands as a testament to the trust, love, and support of our customers and partners. We are deeply grateful for this association and look forward to continuing our pursuit of automotive excellence. The future of Kia India looks bright as we remain steadfast in driving innovation, offering industry-leading products, and shaping the mobility landscape in India.”

Kia India have consistently expanded their product portfolio to cater to diverse market segments. Earlier this year, the company introduced the Kia Syros, a B2-SUV designed for modern, urban Indian consumers.

Since their entry into the Indian market with the launch of the Seltos in August 2019, Kia have consistently gained popularity among Indian consumers. With a focus on quality manufacturing, cutting-edge technology, and customer-centric innovation, Kia India’s Anantapur plant has played a crucial role in the company’s success. The 536-acre facility is one of the most advanced automotive plants in the country and serves as a vital export hub, shipping vehicles to over 90 countries worldwide.

The Anantapur facility has manufactured over 7,00,668 units (46.7%) of Seltos, 5,19,064 units (34.6%) of Sonet, 2,41,582 units (16.1%) of Carens, 23,036 units (1.5%) of Syros, and 16,172 units (1.1%) of Carnival.
