2025 Tata Punch EV ACFC Variants Discontinued | V3Cars
Tata Motors have discontinued the AC Fast Charging (ACFC) variants of the 2025 Punch EV in India. This move is part of a strategic decision to streamline the product portfolio and simplify the buying process for customers.

Tata Motors Removes Punch EV ACFC Options
Tata Motors have phased out all variants of the Punch EV that offered a 7.2kW AC fast charging option. This includes the following 6 variants:

What’s The Rationale Behind The Discontinuation?
Tata Motors aim to reduce customer confusion and make variant selection easier. The company believes that streamlining the lineup will enable buyers to make faster and more informed decisions. Tata Motors had previously observed that offering a large number of variants, while intending to cater to diverse needs, was leading to complexity for customers.
What Is The Impact On Buyers?
The discontinuation of ACFC variants will primarily affect buyers with private parking who prefer faster home charging. Tata Motors had offered the 7.2kW AC fast charger as an optional upgrade for approximately Rs 50,000 over the standard variants. The 7.2kW AC fast charger reduced the charging time for the Long Range (LR) models from 13.5 hours to 5 hours (10-100% SOC).
Current Availability And Future Implications
While the Punch EV ACFC variants are no longer being manufactured, dealerships may still have existing stock of the ACFC-equipped Punch EV. Buyers seeking quicker charging capabilities may want to check with their local dealerships for availability. Tata Motors have not announced any changes to the prices of the remaining non-ACFC variants. This decision reflects Tata Motors’ evolving strategy to optimise their product offerings based on market feedback and consumer preferences.
