At the media drive event of the Jimny, Maruti Suzuki revealed that they have already received over 30,000 bookings for the Jimny 5-door. However, the carmaker is yet to reveal the exact number of bookings for the manual and automatic variants of the SUV. Maruti Suzuki offer the Jimny 5-door with 1 engine and 2 transmission options. Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-Door Engine Specifications

The Jimny 5-door comes with a 1.5L normal petrol engine. It produces 105PS of power at 6000rpm and 134Nm of torque at 4000rpm. It comes mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Both options come with 4-wheel drivetrain as standard. Maruti Suzuki are likely to launch the Jimny 5-door in the first week of June 2023. The Jimny 5-door will not have any direct rival, at least until Mahindra launch the Thar 5-door in India. Till then, the Jimny 5-door will rub shoulders with the Mahindra Thar 3-door and Force Gurkha 3-door.
