2023 Citroen C3 Aircross — Exterior Details & Dimensions

The C3 Aircross offers a butch SUV design, which is otherwise largely influenced by the C3 hatchback. At the front, the C3 Aircross gets a new grille. Unlike the C3, the C3 Aircross’ new grille does not merge seamlessly with the LED DRLs. The headlights continue to feature the semi X-shaped LED DRLs and the main halogen-based headlights sit in a separate cluster. The lower part of the bumper features a faux skid plate and round fog lights as well.

Around the side, the new C3 Aircross gets flared wheel arches with black cladding, giving it a butch SUV stance. It also offers 17-inch dual tone alloy wheels with disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear. The C3 Aircross sits tall with a ground clearance of 200mm. Like the C3, the C3 Aircross also features the outdated flap-type door handles. At the rear, it features larger tail lights with a C-shaped lighting treatment and a silver skid plate placed on the bumper.

2023 Citroen C3 Aircross — Interior

On the inside, the new C3 Aircross offers a similar dashboard design as the C3 hatchback, albeit with a few welcome changes. For starters, it now gets a new full-colour LCD digital instrument cluster with a tachometer, which is missing in the C3 hatchback. The dashboard of the model unveiled gets a beige and grey theme with a dotted texture on the centre bolster. While the C3 Aircross gets large AC vents, automatic climate control has been given a miss. Like the C3, the C3 Aircross gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and telematics.

The C3 Aircross offers seating space for up to 7 passengers. However, the 3rd-row seats are best suited for children. It gets roof-mounted AC vents, USB charging ports and 50:50 split folding 3rd-row seats. With all the seats up, the C3 Aircross offers a very small amount of storage space in the boot, as is the case with all 3-row vehicles in this segment.

2023 Citroen C3 Aircross — Powertrain Details

Citroen are yet to reveal the powertrain specifications for the new C3 Aircross. The carmaker only revealed that the C3 Aircross will come with a turbo petrol engine at launch. It is likely to borrow the 1.2L turbo petrol engine from the C3 hatchback. The 1.2L turbo petrol engine offers 110PS of power at 5500rpm and 190Nm of torque at 1750rpm. While it’s likely to only come with a 6-speed manual transmission at launch, Citroen could also offer a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission option later.

2023 Citroen C3 Aircross — Launch Timeline And Rivals

Citroen will launch the new C3 Aircross in the second half of 2023. Once launched, the new C3 Aircross will face serious competition from the C-segment best-seller — the Hyundai Creta. However, from what we can observe, with up to 90% localisation and a sensible spread of features, the C3 Aircross could undercut the Hyundai Creta by a good margin, while also rivaling MPVs like the Maruti Suzuki XL6, Mahindra Marazzo and Kia Carens.
