Over 9,000 Citroen C3, eC3 Hatchbacks Sold — Expansion Plan Revealed | V3Cars

At the global debut of the new C3 Aircross, Citroen India revealed that they have sold over 9,000 units of the C3 and eC3 hatchback till date. The carmaker also announced their expansion plan for the Indian market ahead of C3 Aircross’ launch. Read on to know more about Citroen India’s expansion plan.

Citroen C3, eC3 Sales Cross 9,000 Mark

Citroen launched the C3 back in July 2022 and within 6 months from its launch, Citroen also launched its electric counterpart — the eC3. Till now, the carmaker has sold 9,000 units of the C3 and eC3 combined and it plans to expand sales further with their upcoming expansion plan.

Citroen Expansion Plan For India

By the time the C3 Aircross launches in India, which will happen in the second half of 2023, Citroen India plan to expand their reach to 55 cities with over 60 dealerships. Furthermore, the carmaker aims to reach over 100 dealership touch points by 2024. Citroen will also bring a new model based on the C-cubed platform in 2024, details of which are scarce at this moment. Currently, Citroen operate with a relatively small dealership network complimented by an online retail system for the existing model lineup.

The new C3 Aircross will be the 4th offering from the French carmaker and the 3rd model based on the heavily localised C-cubed platform. The C3 already enjoys over 90% localisation in the market and Citroen claim that the upcoming C3 Aircross also benefits from 90% localisation. Hence, we expect an aggressive pricing strategy for the C3 Aircross to go up against the ever-so-crowded C-segment.

2023 Citroen C3 Aircross Details

Citroen revealed the C3 Aircross with an aggressive SUV design and class-leading space. The C3 Aircross comes with a class-leading wheelbase of 2671mm, which is even longer than that of the Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq. Furthermore, the C3 Aircross will offer the option of 5- and 7-seater configurations, making it a worthy competitor to MPVs like the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and XL6, Mahindra Marazzo and Kia Carens.
