A recent official communication from Hyundai confirms the list of ADAS features coming to the 2023 Verna. Here’s a list of 3 unique advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) features that caught our eye. These are not commonly available in other cars with ADAS and deserve special mention.

1. Blind Spot Collision Warning And Collision Avoidance

We’ve bundled these 2 together as they complement each other. While changing lanes or making a turn, we sometimes hear a loud horn from another vehicle, which we didn’t see in our rear view mirror. Mostly, it’s a 2-wheeler but some cars have blindspots big enough to hide an entire car. Whether you drive in city traffic or on the highways, you must have experienced such a situation at some point.

This ADAS feature warns you if there’s a risk of collision with a vehicle that is in the driver’s blind spot. On top of that, the next-generation Hyundai Verna will also come equipped with the ability to avoid such a collision. If there’s room to move the car away from the vehicle in your blind spot and avoid the collision, then the new 2023 Verna will do that too.

2. Rear Cross Traffic Alert And Collision Avoidance

Now, you must have heard of the rear cross traffic alert feature that is available in some cars with ADAS. While reversing out of a perpendicular parking spot, if there’s traffic coming from either the left or the right of the vehicle, then the car with such a feature will alert the driver of the risk of collision.

The upcoming Verna 2023 takes it a step further with the collision avoidance feature. In this case, the Verna’s ADAS will automatically brake if the driver doesn’t take action to avoid the collision and it seems highly likely that you might run into another vehicle.

3. Safe Exit Warning

Even if you’re careful enough to check for approaching vehicles from the rear while exiting the car, once in a while, we are in a rush to exit the car. While doing so, suddenly opening the door could lead to an accident. In this situation, the 2023 Verna’s blind-spot sensors will warn you if it’s not safe to open the door and exit the car. This feature will also prevent a collision and prevent a collision between your as well as other approaching vehicles.
