July 2022 Car Sales Analysis - Brand-Wise YoY, MoM Change, 6-Month Trend | V3Cars

In this July 2022 cars sales analysis article, we’ll look at the manufacturer-wise sales figures along with the YoY and MoM change for each carmaker in India. We’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales, where applicable. Lastly, the table with monthly sales for the last 6 months will give you an idea about the 6-month sales trend of car sales for all manufacturers.

Car Sales Analysis

Brand-Wise July 2022 Car Sales - YoY Change

  • In terms of percentage, Citroen posted the best YoY improvement of 1337% because of the low numbers in July of 2021 and the addition of C3 recently. Another point to be noted is that Citroen is not yet a mass volume manufacturer.
  • Amongst the mass volume car-makers, Tata posted the best gain numbers of July YoY comparison ,seeing a 57.4% rise in production.
  • Toyota posted similar around 50% YoY gains.
  • Only losers were Renault, Nissan and MG posting 27%, 13% and 5% decline in production in July 2022 over July 2021.

  • In terms of MoM change, about half the brands saw a decline in sales in July over June of 2022
  • Citroen were the top MoM gainer with a 86.6% growth
  • Jeep were top loser with a 71% lower MoM production figure
