Tata Curvv Unveiled Ahead Of August 7 Launch – Curvv EV To Go On Sale Before Curvv Petrol And Diesel | V3Cars

Tata Motors have unveiled the Curvv coupe SUV ahead of its launch event on August 7. Tata Motors have announced the Curvv EV will go on sale first, on August 7, followed by the Curvv’s petrol and diesel derivatives. Here’s what we know about the 2024 Curvv electric, petrol and diesel variants so far.

2024 Tata Curvv And Curvv EV Unveiled

2024 Tata Curvv EV Design, Features And Powertrain

The Tata Curvv EV follows Tata’s current design philosophy for EVs with an enclosed and body-coloured front grille with an integrated charging port, connected LED DRLs, LED projector and fog lamps mounted on the front bumper, a faux skid plate, and cooling louvres at the bottom of the bumper.

Around the side the only visual difference between the Curvv EV and Curvv ICE are the aero-optimised 16-inch alloy wheels and ‘ev’ badge on the front door on the former. Other design highlights include flush-fitting door handles and a shark fin antenna. The video released by Tata Motors also shows a glimpse of what looks like a panoramic sunroof, albeit one that does not cover the roof entirely.

At the rear, the Curvv EV distinguishes itself from the Curvv ICE with a clear lens connected tail lamp. Highlights include an integrated roof spoiler, a faux skid plate, and ‘curvv.ev’ lettering on the tailgate.

In terms of features, we expect the Curvv EV to offer a similar dashboard layout as the Nexon EV. So expect it to launch with powered and ventilated front seats, and dual 12.3-inch screen for infotainment and driver’s display. The touchscreen infotainment system will offer wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Tata Motors are yet to announce the electric powertrain specifications of the Curvv EV. However, we expect it to offer a larger battery pack than the Nexon EV, which is shipped with a 40.5kWh battery pack. Since the Curvv EV is set to take over the Nexon EV’s spot as Tata’s flagship electric vehicle, we expect it to offer a range of around 500km over the Nexon EV long range variants’ 465km per charge.

2024 Tata Curvv Petrol And Diesel Design, Features And Powertrain

The Tata Curvv petrol and diesel variants feature a similar design to the Curvv ICE concept that was unveiled at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo. Design differences over the Curvv EV include a gloss black front grille with body-coloured accents, ‘curvv’ lettering on the front doors, smoked and connected LED taillamps and 10-spoke alloy wheels.

In terms of features, we expect the Tata Curvv petrol and diesel to offer similar features as the Curvv EV and Nexon petrol and diesel variants.

As reported exclusively by V3Cars earlier this week, the new Curvv will feature Tata’s brand new 1.2L and 1.5L turbo petrol engines. The larger 1.5L turbo petrol produces 170PS of power and 280Nm of torque while Tata have confirmed the smaller 1.2L petrol engine will produce 125PS of power and 225Nm of torque. The officials also mentioned a lower 190Nm version of this engine is also possible. The turbo petrol engines are likely to be paired with a 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT and 7-speed DCT automatic transmissions.

The Curvv diesel is expected to share the same powertrain as the Nexon diesel, which produces 116Nm of power and 260Nm of torque. We expect this engine to be offered with a 6-speed manual only at launch. Know more about the Tata Curvv’s new engines by clicking the link below:

Tata Curvv EV, Curvv Petrol And Diesel Expected Price And Rivals

We expect the Tata Curvv EV to be priced above the Rs. 20.0 lakh price barrier and compete with C-segment electric SUVs like the MG ZS EV and the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV and Citroen Basalt EV.

The Tata Curvv petrol and diesel are expected to get a starting price of Rs. 11.0 lakh and go all the way up to Rs. 19.80 lakh. The petrol and diesel variants of the Curvv SUV will rival other C-segment SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruise Hyryder, MG Astor, and the Honda Elevate. It will also compete with the upcoming coupe SUV from Citroen, the Basalt.
