2022 Mahindra Scorpio N – Everything We Know | V3Cars
In this article, we’ll explain the interior and exterior confirmed features of the upcoming 2022 Mahindra Scorpio N along with expected prices and launch date. We’ll also compare the Scorpio N’s dimensions with its D-segment 3-row SUV rivals. Let’s start with the exterior features.

2022 Mahindra Scorpio N - Exterior Confirmed Features
Just like the previous generation Scorpios, the next-gen Scorpio N will also get a body-on-frame construction. This lends it a naturally tall stance with muscular proportions. The front gets a traditional Mahindra 6-slat chrome grille with the new twin-peak logo. There’s also LED projector headlamps with C-shaped LED DRLs in the bumpers next to the fog lamps.
From the sides, the 18-inch machined alloy wheels are its most notable features with disc brakes in the front as well as the back. Besides the alloys, the silver roof rails are also easily noticeable.
Around the back, the vertical LED taillamps are the most eye-catching detail with the side-swinging gate in between the lights. Here you can spot the indicators in the tail lamp cluster but the reversing light is down low in the bumper, which also gets some chrome detailing. The rear washer wiper and defogger are also visible in the images. While you can see a camera in the images, it has a camera under the front and rear logos. These cameras along with the front and rear parking sensors will make it a lot easier to park a big car like the Scorpio N even in tight parking spaces.

Now let’s talk about the interiors.
Upcoming Mahindra Scorpio N - Interior Confirmed Features
To make it easier to get in and out of a tall SUV like the Scorpio N, there are grab handles in the A pillars. Once you’re inside, you’ll notice the flat-bottom steering wheel with buttons for infotainment and cruise control. We can also see the markings for “auto” on the right side stalk confirming that the car will get auto headlamps. Behind the wheel is a large 7-inch full-colour LCD instrument cluster with 2 analog dials on either side. We first saw such a setup in Mahindra’s Alturas G4 SUV, which competes with the Fortuner.
The centre of the dashboard gets an 8-inch touchscreen, which we have also seen in the lower variants of the XUV700. On top of the display is a Sony centre stage speaker. Besides this speaker, you can also spot speakers in the D pillars suggesting that the car will get a 7-speaker setup.
Underneath the touchscreen, there are controls for a 2-zone auto AC along with buttons for traction control and hill-descent control. The centre panel has the shifter lever and a 4-wheel drive selector knob with options for 4-low and 4-high modes.
The interiors of the Scorpio N get black and brown leather upholstery with leather-covered, soft-touch dashboard and leather wrapped door pads. Scorpio N will come with 6 and 7-seat layout. The 6-seat configuration will get captain seats in the 2nd row with individual armrests while the 3rd row will be a bench. In the 7-seat setup, the 2nd and 3rd rows will get forward-facing bench seats.
Turning your attention towards the top will reveal the sunroof, which is not visible in the exterior images because of the height of the car. We wish it had a larger, panoramic sunroof.

Next-Gen Mahindra Scorpio N 2022 - Dimensions & Engine Specs
The new Scorpio N measures 4662mm long, 1917mm wide and 1870mm tall with a wheelbase of 2750mm. It’s the widest D-segment 3-row SUV and longer than even the Safari by 1mm. It’s only about 3cm shorter than even the XUV700. The Scorpio N’s ground clearance details aren’t available right now but we expect to have 205mm ground clearance, which is the same as the Tata Safari’s.

*Expected
The engine details of the Scorpio N aren’t available right now but we are expecting to see the same 2.0L turbo petrol and 2.2L turbo diesel engines in the Scorpio N, which are available in the XUV700. It’ll also get the option of a 4-wheel drive and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. However, it may have slightly different power and torque outputs compared to the XUV700.
Expected Prices And Launch Details - New Mahindra Scorpio N
To estimate the prices of the Scorpio N, we first need to look at the current prices of the other D-segment SUVs with 3-rows of seating. Among petrol options, the Hector Plus is the most affordable opinion while the XUV700 7-seat is the most expensive one. With a diesel engine, the Tata Safari is the most affordable car while the XUV700 7-seater is once again the most expensive SUV.

The older Scorpio, which will continue to remain on sale as Scorpio Classic currently costs between Rs. 13.30 and Rs. 18.20 lakh (ex-showroom). It only gets a diesel engine and neither gets 4-wheel drive nor an automatic transmission.
Keeping this information in mind, we expect the new Scorpio N’s prices to start from Rs. 14.0 lakh and go up to Rs. 22.0 lakh for the top variant with a diesel engine, automatic transmission and 4-wheel drive.
Mahindra will reveal the prices of the new Scorpio N when they launch the car on June 27.
