Maruti Suzuki Electric SUV Concept Expected Specs

We are yet to get any details about the specifications of the upcoming electric SUV concept. Maruti Suzuki may reveal some ballpark figures for the battery and powertrain at the 2023 Auto Expo. At the fair, Maruti Suzuki may claim a range figure of 500km to create some buzz around the vehicle. The BYD recently raised the bar for the class with a 521km range with their Atto3. But the actual details about the Maruti EV’s range will only surface closer to the global unveiling of the production model.

The upcoming electric SUV concept from Maruti Suzuki is likely to measure more than 4 metres. It will rival other C-segment electric vehicles in the market like the BYD Atto 3, MG ZS EV, Mahindra XUV400 and Hyundai Kona Electric.

Maruti Suzuki Electric Concept SUV Launch Timeline

We expect Maruti Suzuki to launch their first all-electric SUV by 2025. Rumours also suggest that this model will have a Toyota derivative. Till the time we get to see the first all-electric Maruti SUV, the brand will focus on its strong hybrid vehicles. The Grand Vitara will soon receive its elder brother in form of a 3-row hybrid SUV, sharing its underpinnings and powertrains with the Toyota Innova Hycross.

Maruti Suzuki Electric Concept SUV Expected Price

It’s very early to talk about the expected prices of the Maruti electric SUV, owing to the lack of powertrain details. The prices of the EVs in 2025 will greatly depend on the adoption rate, inflation, battery prices, taxes on electric vehicles and other alternative fuel vehicles.

Maruti Suzuki will only showcase the concept at the 2023 Auto Expo whereas its launch will take a couple of years. Going with a rough estimate, the all-electric model from Maruti Suzuki could fall in the price range of Rs. 25.0 lakh and Rs. 30.0 lakh ex-showroom.
