Rank 1: Sierra (w/ 1.5L turbo petrol engine)
- The 2025 Sierra with a poppy yellow paint looked amazing at the Mobility Expo 2025
- This is the first time Tata have a Sierra at the Expo without tailpipe emissions
- The Sierra 2025 will go on sale sometime around mid-late 2025 but definitely before the festive season; even if that means bringing it out only a few days before the Diwali
- The new Sierra will get the all-new 1.5L turbo petrol engine with direct injection
- The Sierra’s turbo petrol will also end up in the Harrier and Safari
- An interesting thing to note is that the Sierra will finally get 6 parking sensors in the front and 6 around the back. That is an achievement for Tata Motors, as they currently sell a car as wide as the Safari for close to Rs. 30.0 lakh on-road with only 2 front and 2 rear parking sensors. Sometimes, trolling helps and you’re welcome: Jun 2024: Tata Sierra To Get This Feature Not Available In Any Tata Car
Auto Expo 2025: Tata Showcase Sierra ICE In Near-Production-Ready Form
Rank 2: Harrier EV (w/ 2-motor 4WD)
- The Harrier EV, which uses the 2nd-gen EV platform from Tata was also on display
- The 2025 Harrier EV will also get 2 motor option to drive all 4 wheels.
- Finally, Tata, who claim to have an enormous market share in the Indian “SUV” market, will have a 4WD to justify calling themselves an SUV maker
- Like we just said, sometimes trolling helps. Feels nice to know that we had a role in deciding the direction of a major auto manufacturer in India: Feb 2024: Tata Motors — The Only Mainstream SUV Maker With No 4WD In Portfolio — Opinion
Auto Expo 2025: Tata Showcase Harrier EV In Production-Ready Form
Rank 3: Avinya X
- What looks like an MPV is taking shape of an SUV as we get closer to the design evolution of the Avinya
- At the 2025 Mobility Expo, Tata displayed an updated version of the Avinya Concept called the Avinya X
- The X is probably supposed to signify that this is an SUV or something and the side profile did look like a curvy luxury crossover
- This is the 3rd time we’re seeing the Avinya at the Auto Expo (1st in 2020, 2nd time in 2023)
- The Avinya X will sit on a 3rd gen EV platform from Tata. You can learn more about them at the following links:

Rank 4: Punch Flex Fuel
- The Punch Flex Fuel was there to satisfy the ‘mantriji’ and their entourage visiting the Mobility Expo
- The government wants to switch to ethanol and the Punch Flex Fuel is like Tata Motors giving their word that they will support the government with this initiative and do some of the brainwashing on their behalf as long as there’s something in it for them too. Oops! That last part was supposed to be whispered and I said it out loud.
- The special thing about the Punch Flex Fuel is that it’s, according to Tata Motors, capable of running on 100% ethanol
- And, its front-to-back dual-tone exterior with a green shade — for those unaware of the fact, painting a car green helps cut down the emissions and fuel consumption by about 8% and the Punch Flex Fuel is getting there with half green exterior. Hence the high demand of the Nexon in green colour. ;-)
Rank 5: Old Sierra
- Tata also brought the old Sierra diesel 4WD deep inside Delhi — on a flat bed, of course
- It’s interesting to see that they aren’t shying away from leaning into their history and heritage while reaping all the benefits of removing older cars from the roads
- Speaking of heritage, the new Sierra is a fantastic car but calling it a Sierra and saying that it has those genes is a lie. Seeing them side-by-side strongly reaffirmed this point. (Here’s a trolling attempt, which will probably fail: Dec 2023: It’s Not A Sierra: Leaked 2025 Tata Sierra EV Design Patent Confirms Our Fears — Opinion)
- The OG Sierra had the following features, none of which are available in the new Sierra:
- No side-swinging boot door but a hatchback
- No spare wheel mounted around the back
- 4-doors instead of 2-doors, as the original Sierra
- No 4WD option
- A monocoque platform instead of a rugged body-on-frame
- A 1.5L turbo petrol engine (the display car had a petrol engine)
- No curved rear window glass
Auto Expo 2025: OG Tata Sierra Diesel Showcased
Rank 6: Tiago 2025
- Tata also showcased the updated 2025 Tiago
- It gets new colour options and it’s probably the only massmarket car to get 3 shades of a single colour; in this case, blue.
- The Tiago 2025 gets features like new flat-bottom, dual-tone leather-wrapped steering wheel with a backlit Tata logo; the one we see in the Punch EV
- It also borrows the larger 10-inch touchscreen from the Punch EV and now has wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay
- It now gets parking sensors even in the higher variants; earlier, the Tiago’s higher variants with a rear camera missed out on parking sensors

Rank 7: Tiago EV 2025
- Tata also showcased the updated 2025 Tiago EV
- The Tiago EV was another car at Tata’s Expo pavilion with a poppy yellow shade
- It too gets similar feature updates as the Tiago petrol/CNG
Rank 8: Harrier Bandipur Edition
- As usual, Tata had a bunch of “Special” editions at the auto expo
- The Bandipur edition had an exterior paint similar to that of the Kazianga edition
- Instead of a rhino mascot, these had an elephant badging on the fenders
Auto Expo 2025: Tata Nexon EV, Harrier And Safari Bandipur Editions Showcased
Rank 9: Safari Bandipur Edition
- Same changes as the Harrier Bandipur
Rank 10: Nexon EV Bandipur Edition
- Same changes as the Harrier and Safari Bandipur
Rank 11: Safari Stealth
- In terms of most dangerous cars at the Auto Expo, the Safari Stealth takes the top honours
- In addition to wearing a black exterior colour, this one also has a non-reflective matte finish, which will make it extremely difficult to see in the dark, especially with its lights turned off
- Let’s hope this one never goes on sale. But if:
- It does go on sale
- And, you end up buying this
- And, you have to park it on a not-so-well-lit street
- And, somebody rams into it or ends up scratching it with their vehicle:
- Please don’t ask them: “Dikhta nahi kya?” It’s called “Stealth Edition” for a reason.
- Instead, apologise for having damaged the other person’s car with your nearly-invisible car.
- And, don’t hope to achieve perfect finish while removing minor scratches. You can’t just buff out scratches on a matte finish.
Rank 12: Harrier EV Stealth
- Same changes as the Safari Stealth with matte black exterior colour and dark interiors
Rank 13: Punch EV
- After Tiago EV and Sierra, Punch EV was the 3rd Tata car at the Auto Expo with a different, but equally poppy shade of yellow
- Other than that, there’s nothing special about this car
- On the one hand, Tata are working with such high-viz exterior colours that enhance road safety and on the other, there is black (called Dark Edition) and matte black (called Stealth Edition)
Rank 14: Nexon CNG Red Dark
- Speaking of invisible and unsafe editions, the Nexon CNG Red Dark was also on display
- The Nexon CNG currently doesn’t get Red Dark edition
Rank 15: Curvv ICE
- Nothing special about this car. This was just to display Tata’s recent additions to their portfolio
Rank 16: Curvv EV
- Same with the Curvv EV. Nothing new. Just a portfolio demonstration.
Rank 17: Punch CNG
- Same with Punch CNG. Portfolio display.
Rank 18: Nexon EV Red Dark
- And same with Nexon EV Red Dark.
