Participating brands include Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Skoda, Mahindra, Tata Motors, Kia, MG, Toyota, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, VinFast, BYD, and others. In this article, we take a look at the SUVs and EVs that Mahindra are set to showcase at the Auto Expo 2025.
1. BE 6 (Confirmed)
Mahindra unveiled their all-new born electric SUV, the BE 6, on November 26, 2024. The homegrown SUV maker announced a starting price of Rs. 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant of the BE 6. We expect Mahindra to unveil the full variant-wise prices of the BE 6 at the Auto Expo and open bookings shortly after.
The 2025 BE 6e features a sporty and aggressive design with seating for 5 passengers. Based on Mahindra’s INGLO platform, the BE 6e is offered with 2 battery pack options. Mahindra say the top variant of the BE 6e offers an ARAI-claimed range of 682km.

2. XEV 9E (Confirmed)
The XEV 9E too was unveiled on November 26, 2024, and Mahindra announced a starting price of Rs. 21.90 lakh (ex-showroom) for their flagship electric coupe SUV. Mahindra will reveal the full variant-wise prices of the XEV 9E at the Auto Expo 2025 and we expect them to open bookings shortly after.
The XEV 9e promises to redefine the Indian automotive landscape with its futuristic design, cutting-edge technology, and impressive performance. Mahindra have stated that XEV 9e deliveries will start by the end of February 2025 or March 2025. 3. XEV 8E (Expected)
Apart from the BE 6 and XEV 9E, Mahindra are expected to showcase the XEV 8E. The XEV 8E is essentially the XEV 9E with a traditional roofline. It can also be considered as the all-electric version of the XUV700. The upcoming XEV 8E will share its platform, powertrain and battery pack options with the flagship XEV 9E. When launched later in 2025, we expect it to cost Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 80,000 less than the XEV 9E.

4. XUV 3XO EV (Expected)
Mahindra launched the updated versions of the XUV300 in 2024 and gave it a new name – the XUV 3XO. Meanwhile, the XUV400, which is the all-electric version of the XUV300, is still on sale with the older design. We expect Mahindra to showcase the all-electric version of the XUV 3XO at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. It is likely to ditch the XUV400 nameplate for a new name, which could start with XEV. Expect the XUV 3XO EV to offer the same set of features as the XUV 3XO turbo petrol and diesel variants, including ADAS and a panoramic sunroof to take on the Tata Nexon EV and MG Windsor EV.
5. Thar E (Expected)
The Mahindra Thar E was unveiled in its concept form in August 2023. We expect Mahindra to showcase a prototype version of the Thar E at the upcoming Auto Expo 2025. Mahindra have stated that the Thar E would be developed from the ground up on a dedicated EV skateboard platform instead of the current ICE-powered Thar’s ladder frame construction.
The Thar.e will be built on Mahindra’s new INGLO-P1 skateboard platform and the production version of the electric SUV will find a place in Mahindra’s upcoming Born Electric range of vehicles. Mahindra claim that the production version of the Thar.e will offer a wheelbase measuring between 2775mm and 2975mm, which should free up a lot of space for 5 passengers and their luggage with ease. The additional length over the ICE-powered Thar 3 Door should also help Mahindra equip the Thar.e with a large battery pack for better range.
Other Mahindra SUVs At Auto Expo 2025
Apart from the 5 new and upcoming Mahindra SUVs, we expect Mahindra to showcase the rest of their lineup, including the XUV 3XO, Mahindra Thar Roxx and others, at the Auto Expo 2025. We could also expect to see heavily accessorised versions of the Thar 3 Door and Thar Roxx at the event. Additionally, Mahindra could also reveal the launch timeline of their upcoming electric SUVs and showcase a few design prototypes by Pratap Bose.
