1. Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5 Door

Jimny

Maruti Suzuki are all set to announce the prices of the new Jimny 5 door on June 7. The carmaker took the wraps off of the new Jimny 5 door at the 2023 Auto Expo and since then, Maruti Suzuki have bagged over 30,000 bookings for the rugged 5-door off-roader. The Jimny 5-door comes with a 1.5L normal petrol engine that produces 105PS of power at 6000rpm and 134Nm of torque at 4000rpm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Both options come with 4-wheel-drive as standard.

2. Volvo C40 Recharge

Volvo C40 Recharge

After tasting success with the XC40 Recharge, Volvo Cars India are set to launch the C40 Recharge on June 14. The C40 Recharge offers a coupe-esque roofline and shares its electric powertrain with the Volvo XC40 Recharge. The C40 Recharge packs a 78kWh battery pack between its wheels, which channels power to 2 electric motors mounted on each axle. The electric motors produce 408PS of power and 660Nm of torque. It remains to be seen whether the C40 Recharge will be sold as a CBU or a CKD. When launched, it will rival other electric cars and SUVs, such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6 and BMW i4 sedan.

3. BMW M2

BMW M2

BMW India are likely to launch the M2 sports coupe in June 2023. The BMW M2 will mark the return of BMWs equipped with a manual transmission. When launched, it will become the only sports car in India to offer a manual gearbox. It comes with 3.0L twin-turbocharged petrol engine that produces 460PS of power and 550Nm of torque. The power output of the new M2 is 90PS more than the base-spec version of the outgoing M2. The engine channels power to the rear wheels and buyers also get the option of either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

4. Mercedes-AMG SL 55

Mercedes-AMG SL 55

Mercedes-Benz India will launch the new SL 55 AMG on June 22. When launched, the SL 55 will become the second convertible AMG model on sale in the country. The Mercedes-AMG SL55 is powered by a 4.0L twin-turbocharged petrol engine that puts out 476PS of power between 5500rpm and 6500rpm and 700Nm of torque between 2250rpm and 4500rpm. The engine channels power to all 4 wheels via a 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

5. Mahindra Scorpio Classic S5

Scorpio Classic S5

Mahindra are likely to launch the new mid-spec S5 variant of the Scorpio Classic in June. The new variant has arrived at a few dealerships and when launched, it will fill the gap between the base S and top S11 variant of the Scorpio Classic. The new variant will retain the same 2.2L turbo diesel engine as the S and S11 variants. The 2.2L turbo diesel engine produces 132PS of power at 3750rpm and 300Nm of torque between 1600rpm and 2800rpm. It offers a couple of features over the base S variant like body-coloured bumpers and alloy wheels.

6. Volkswagen Taigun, Virtus Special Editions

VW Taigun & Virtus

Volkswagen will launch the special editions of the Taigun and Virtus in June 2023. The special edition versions of the Virtus GT Plus and Taigun GT Plus  will offer a manual transmission option for buyers looking for a more engaging driving experience. Apart from the manual GT Plus variant, the more affordable Taigun GT variant will gain a dual-clutch automatic transmission along with the 1.5L turbo petrol engine. Furthermore, these new editions will also offer new exterior colour options like matte grey and black.

7. Honda Elevate

Honda Cars India are all set to take the wraps off of the new Elevate SUV ahead of its expected launch in August 2023. The Elevate could feature the City’s 1.5L normal petrol engine at launch while the 1.5L strong hybrid powertrain could join the lineup a little later. It is likely to share its underpinnings and features with the City sedan. A few Honda dealerships have already started accepting unofficial bookings for the new Elevate SUV.
