Skoda Issue Global Recall To Replace Faulty Takata Airbags | V3Cars
Skoda Auto have announced a global recall to replace faulty Takata airbags in cars manufactured from 2012. The recall includes Skoda cars manufactured since 2012. Skoda have advised customers to contact their local Skoda authorised service centre to arrange an appointment if their vehicle is among those affected by the recall.
Update (Oct 12, 2023): We had incorrectly mentioned article that this recall is from Skoda India. We have updated the post to accurately convey that this is a global recall and not issued by Skoda India.
Here’s what the company said about the recall:
“Takata Driver Airbag recall campaign
Danger to life due to defective airbags
The global recall of Takata airbags affects models manufactured by Škoda as well as many other manufacturers. This means that if there is a faulty airbag in your vehicle, it could pose a serious safety risk to you. On the following page, you can find more information and check if your vehicle is affected.”
Head over to Skoda’s official website and enter your car’s VIN to check if it is affected by the latest recall. Over the last decade, Takata airbag recalls have affected millions of car owners from various brands, including Audi, BMW, Honda and Toyota, across the globe.
Indian VIN
We tried it with 2 VINs of Indian Skoda cars and in both cases, we got the message saying that we’re in the green.
