All-New Toyota Camry Makes International Debut – India Launch Likely In 2024 | V3Cars
Toyota have unveiled the next-generation Toyota Camry for global markets. Toyota’s new D2-segment sedan comes with an updated hybrid powertrain and it is expected to launch in India in 2024. Let’s take a closer look at the India-bound Toyota Camry hybrid sedan.
2024 Toyota Camry Exterior And Interior Design
The new Toyota Camry features an evolutionary design compared to the model currently sold in India. The design updates make the new Camry sedan fall in line with the new Toyota Prius. At the front, the new Camry 2024 features sleek LED headlamps and a slim grille. J-shaped LED DRLs and a heavily sculpted front bumper adds more flair to the new Camry. At a glance, the side profile of the new Camry looks quite similar to that of the older model. However, a closer inspection reveals sharper character lines and new dual-tone 19-inch alloy wheels. Toyota’s designers have retained the sloping roofline of the current Camry and the new model gets updated LED tail lamps, a lip spoiler and dual exhaust outlets.
On the inside, the new Camry gets an updated dashboard layout with the integration of Toyota’s next-gen widescreen touchscreen infotainment system. The new infotainment system is placed at the same level as the driver’s digital display, which comes in 2 sizes based on the variant. The centre console has traded its flowing design for a rectangular design, which Toyota say have helped free up more space in the cabin. Other feature highlights of the 2024 Toyota Camry include:
- Standard 7-inch digital instrument cluster
- 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster in higher variants
- 10-inch head-up display
- Standard 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system
- 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system in higher variants
- Wireless Android Auto And Apple CarPlay
- OTA updates for infotainment system
- “Hey Toyota” voice commands
- 9-speaker JBL system
- Digital key (using phone as key) available with telematics add-on package
In terms of safety, the new Camry offers ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), and ADAS features like lance change assists, front and rear park assists, lane departure warning, and automatic high beam assist.

2024 Toyota Camry Updated Powertrain Specs
The 2024 Camry sedan continues to feature Toyota’s 2.5-litre petrol engine. However, it is mated to the company’s new fifth-generation Toyota Hybrid System this time around, helping it produce slightly more power and torque than the outgoing model. The updated powertrain in the 2024 Camry produces 225PS of power in front-wheel drive (FWD) guise and 232PS of power with the all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup. Compared to the Camry hybrid sold in India currently, the new model with the FWD configuration puts out an additional 7PS. Like before, the hybrid engine in the new Camry is mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).
New Toyota Camry India Launch And Rivals
We expect the new Toyota Camry to go on sale in India in the second half od 2024. When launched, it will rival the Skoda Superb, which received a generation update recently. Meanwhile, the current Toyota Camry is still on sale in India in a single variant at a price of Rs. 46.17 lakh (ex-showroom).
