BYD eMax 7: Engine Specs

The BYD eMax 7’s base variant gets a 55.4kWh battery pack with an estimated range of 420km. This results in an efficiency figure of 7.58kmpu. This variant makes 163PS of power and 310Nm of torque. It can charge with up to 7kW AC and 89kW DC charger. With the AC charger, it can go from 0 to 100% battery in about 9 hours. From a high power DC charger, it can go from 10 to 80%in about 30 minutes.

The highe spec Superior variant gets a larger 71.8kWh battery pack with an estimated range of 530km, thus resulting in a mileage figure of 7.38kmpu. It also makes 310Nm of torque but it can churn out 204PS of power—41PS more than the base model.

It also charges at speeds of up to 7kW AC charger but it can charge at a higher speed of 115kW with a compatible DC charger. The eMax 7 top model can fully charge using an AC charger in 12 hours. With a compatible DC charger, it only takes about 30 minutes to take it from 10 to 80%.

BYD eMax 7: Dimensions

The BYD eMax 7 measures 4710mm long, 1810mm wide and 1690mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 2800mm and a ground clearance of 170mm. With all three rows upright, it has a small boot Space of 180mm but with the 3rd row down, the cargo volume increases to a respectable 580 litres. Both variants get the option of 7-seat layout with a bench in the middle row as well as 6-seat configuration, which gets captain seats in the 2nd row.
