New-Gen Mercedes Benz E-Class Launched At Rs. 78.50 - 92.50 Lakh | V3Cars

Mercedes Benz have just announced the prices of their new-generation E-Class. It starts from Rs. 78.50 lakh (ex-showroom), which will get you the E200 with a 2.0L turbo petrol engine. The E220d with a 2.0L turbo diesel engine costs Rs. 81.50 lakh (ex-sh), which is Rs. 3.0 lakh more than the petrol version. Finally, the top-spec E450 4Matic with a larger 3.0L, 6-cylinder turbo petrol engine and 4-wheel drive costs Rs. 92.50 lakh.

2024 Mercedes Benz E-Class Engine Specs

The standard 2.0L turbo petrol engine of the new E-Class makes 207PS of power and 320Nm of torque. The diesel engine makes a little less power at 200PS but a whole lot more torque measuring 440Nm. The bigger 3.0L, 6-cylinder turbo petrol engine of the E-Class makes 386PS of power and 500Nm of torque.

All 3 engines get a mild hybrid system with a 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission. While the E450 gets 4-wheel drive, the other two versions with smaller engines get a rear-wheel drivetrain.

2024 E-Class Conclusion

While the E-Class comes across as a fairly expensive car when looked at in isolation, it is in fact the best value package in Mercedes India portfolio. Being almost as long as an S-Class makes it quite spacious for buyers who prefer using the rear seats of the car.

However, having a fun engine, drivetrain and platform makes it equally enjoyable to drive it yourself. On the other hand, an A-Class or C-Class are not long enough to offer a spacious rear seat experience for chauffeur drive customers. Instead of buying an entry-level luxury car for self driving and an S-Class to be chauffeured around, the E-Class comes across as a 2-in-1 car. Thus, it ends up saving you a lot of money while offering the benefits of 2 cars in one. The E-Class is one of those rare luxury cars, which can offer you a fantastic front- as well as rear-seat experience.
