Mahindra XEV 9e & BE 6e Design Sketches Released Ahead Of November 26 Launch | V3Cars

Mahindra are gearing up to reveal the production-spec XUV 9e and BE 6e electric SUVs at the Unlimit India World Premiere in Chennai on November 26. Ahead of the launch, Mahindra have released the exterior design sketches of the XEV 9e and BE 6e. Earlier this month, Mahindra even teased the interior sketches of both SUVs, giving us a glimpse of their features. Here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming Mahindra electric SUVs.

2024 Mahindra XEV 9e, BE 6e Sketches Released

2024 Mahindra XEV 9e To Offer Muscular Design, Triple Screens

The XEV 9e, which is based on Mahindra’s born-electric INGLO platform, boasts a muscular and aggressive design. The front profile is dominated by vertically stacked LED headlights and sleek, inverted L-shaped LED DRLs. The sloping roofline adds a sporty touch, while the connected LED tail lights complete the modern look.

On the inside, the XEV 9e will offer a futuristic cabin with a triple-screen setup for an immersive digital experience. We can also expect a 2-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo a la Tata’s latest offerings. To enhance comfort and convenience, the XEV 9e will offer a panoramic sunroof, multi-zone climate control, wireless charging, a premium audio system, and ventilated and powered front seats. As an electric vehicle, it will also offer advanced features like vehicle-to-load (V2L) technology and multiple regeneration modes.

In terms of safety, the XEV 9e is expected to offer 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS. Mahindra have revealed that both the upcoming XEV 9e and BE 6e will offer 2 battery pack options – 59kWh and 79kWh – with 175kW DC fast charging capabilities, enabling users of both electric SUVs to charge their vehicles from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes. We expect Mahindra to offer both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variants of the XEV 9e. The rear-wheel-drive (RWD) variants are expected to deliver power outputs ranging from 231PS to 285PS. Expect a claimed range of around 450km to 500km, depending on the powertrain.

We expect Mahindra to price the XEV 9e above the Rs. 30.0 lakh mark. When launched, the Mahindra XEV 9e will not only rival the upcoming Tata Harrier EV and Sierra EV, but also take on electric crossovers such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the Kia EV6.

2024 Mahindra BE 6e To Offer Sleek Coupe-Like Design

The BE 6e, previously known as the BE.05 concept, is a sleek electric coupe with sharp angles and distinctive design elements. The angular bonnet, C-shaped LED DRLs, and sharp lines along the silhouette create a dynamic and sporty appearance. The slim front bumper and aerodynamically designed alloy wheels further enhance its sleek profile.

The BE 6e, while sharing some features with the XEV 9e, will have a slightly different interior layout. It will feature dual integrated screens, a 2-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo, and a panoramic sunroof. The BE 6e is also expected to offer multi-zone climate control, wireless charging, and a premium audio system. Safety features will include 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS.

Based on the Mahindra BE.05 concept SUV, the production-spec BE 6e is expected to feature aggressive styling with a steeply raked rear end. Based on the previous spy shots, we expect Mahindra to retain most of the design highlights of the concept SUV into the production-ready BE 6e. Like the XEV 9e, the BE 6e is expected to offer 2 battery pack options – 59kWh and 79kWh – at launch. Expect a claimed range of over 500km from the BE 6e.

When launched, the Mahindra BE 6e will not only rival the Tata Curvv EV but also take on the upcoming Maruti Suzuki eVX and the Hyundai Creta EV. We expect the BE 6e to cost between Rs. 18 lakh to Rs. 22 lakh (ex-showroom).

Both the XEV 9e and BE 6e are scheduled to make their official debut on November 26 2024.
