All-Electric Kia EV5 SUV Breaks Cover In China | V3Cars
Kia have taken the wraps off of the new EV5 at the Chengdu Motor Show in China. From the looks of it, the EV5 looks like shrunken-down EV9 and retains most of its design cues. Read on to know more about the new Kia EV5 electric SUV.
Kia EV5 Electric SUV Exterior Design Highlights
It’s interesting to see how similar the EV5 and EV9 look to their respective concepts. The front end of the EV5 boasts the new signature LED DRL design along with triangular LED headlights. The rest of the front profile is flat and looks kind of like a concept. Around the side, the EV5 gets a large glasshouse, which rises towards the C-pillar and merges with the rear windscreen, thus giving it a wraparound look. Like the front, the rear of the EV5 features connected LED tail lights with the Kia badging in the middle.

Kia EV5 Electric SUV Interior And Features
The EV9’s design inspiration can also be seen inside the new EV5. The top of its dashboard is adorned with a glass binnacle consisting of two high-definition screens. While Kia are yet to reveal the size and features of the infotainment system, it is likely to offer a host of connected car tech and connectivity features like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Other notable features of the Kia EV5 interior include 64-colour ambient lighting, 4-spoke steering wheel, full-colour LCD instrument cluster, head-up display, and wireless smartphone charging. Another interesting detail of its interior is the centre armrest, which is integrated within the lower squab of the passenger seat, mimicking a middle jump seat.
