Tata Harrier Facelift Spied On Test With New Features And Tech | V3Cars
To answer the stiff competition from Mahindra XUV700 and the upcoming new-gen MG Hector, Tata Motors are readying the Harrier facelift with new features. A test car reveals the new changes on the SUV that include 360-degree parking camera and a bigger touchscreen.
The Tata Harrier is one of most popular D1-segment SUVs in the country. However, with the increasing competition, the Harrier has started to loose its ground. It currently lacks a lot of new-age features that its competitors offer. These features include ADAS and 360-degree parking camera, among others.
The test car that was spied didn’t have any camouflage. We can see the placement of a camera on the ORVM, which confirms that the new Harrier facelift will offer a 360-degree parking camera in the top variants. In addition to that, we can also expect it to offer a revised dashboard and a bigger infotainment screen with thinner bezels. The dashboard of the test car was wrapped with camouflage, which hints at some crucial design and functional changes.

With the facelift, we can also expect some design updates in the form of a redesigned ront grille and tweaked headlights and tail lights. Finally, it could also offer advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), which the new XUV700 offers.
On the powertrain front, we expect the new Harrier to carry the same 2.0L FCA-sourced turbo diesel engine. In its current state, this engine produces 170PS of power at 3750rpm and 350Nm of torque between 1750rpm and 2500rpm. This engine comes with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

Regarding the long-rumoured petrol engine, we reported that Tata Motors will not offer their turbo petrol engine, which is under development, with the Harrier and Safari owing to future emission norms. For now, we expect both the Harrier and Safari SUVs to stick with the 2.0L turbo diesel engine.
