Lexus are the only luxury carmaker to attend the 2023 Auto Expo. In this article, we share the list of cars and SUVs that we expect Lexus to showcase at the Auto Expo 2023. Next-Gen Lexus RX SUV - Confidence: Confirmed

RX

Lexus India have confirmed the new-gen RX SUV for the 2023 Auto Expo. Lexus already offer the previous-gen RX SUV in India with a 7-seat configuration whereas the new-gen model comes with a 5-seat configuration only. Lexus offer an array of hybrid and plug-in-hybrid powertrain options with the new RX in global markets.

However, Lexus India are yet to reveal the powertrain details of the India-bound RX SUV. The latest addition to the RX range is the 2.4L turbocharged petrol engine. Variants powered by this engine also get an electric motor at the rear axle, which gives it all-wheel-drive capabilities. The 5th-gen Lexus RX is likely to rival the BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE, Audi Q7, Volvo XC90 and Land Rover Range Rover Velar in India.

Updated Lexus LC500h - Confidence: Confirmed

Lexus India have also confirmed the updated LC500h for the 2023 Auto Expo. The LC500h is already on sale in India and it retails at Rs. 2.29 crore ex-showroom. The most notable feature of the Lexus LC500h is its intelligent hybrid powertrain. Since the discontinuation of the BMW i8, the LC500h is currently the only hybrid sports car on sale in the country. The LC500h comes with a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine that runs on Atkinson-cycle and works in conjunction with an electric motors.

It comes paired with an electric motor and combined, this powertrain produces 354PS of power and it gets channeled to the wheels via a multi-stage hybrid transmission consisting of a CVT and a 4-speed automatic transmission. The Lexus LC500h is a luxury coupe and it goes up against the likes of the Jaguar F-Type, BMW M8 Coupe and Porsche 911.

Lexus LF-Z Concept - Confidence: Confirmed

Lexus India have also confirmed the LF-Z electric concept for the 2023 Auto Expo. The LF-Z is built on Lexus’ all-new dedicated electric platform and it comes with a predicted range of over 600km on a single charge. As per Lexus, the LF-Z can do the 0-100kmph sprint in just 3 seconds.

The design of the LF-Z falls in line with new-gen Lexus cars like the new RX but the production version of the electric crossover could feature a different design. It offers a coupe roofline and a connected light bar for the tail lights. On the inside, it gets a redesigned interior with the latest instrumentation. Other interesting features of the LF-Z include camera-based ORVMs, glass roof, shift-by-wire technology and flush-fitting door handles.

2023 Lexus LX 500d - Confidence: High

Lexus LX 500d

Lexus recently launched the updated 2023 LX 500d in India at a starting price of Rs. 2.8 crore ex-showroom. We expect Lexus to showcase the LX 500d at the 2023 Auto Expo to let visitors experience their premium SUV. The India-spec Lexus LX500d comes with a 3.3L turbo diesel engine. It produces 308PS of power at 4000rpm and 700Nm of torque between 1600rpm and 2600rpm. The engine comes mated to a 10-speed torque converter automatic transmission and 4-wheel-drive. 

The Lexus LX500d goes up against the likes of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS600 and Land Rover Range Rover. The LX500d shares its powertrains and underpinnings with the Toyota Land Cruiser but dials up the luxury quotient with higher brand value and features.
