Kia EV6 Electric Crossover Bookings Open | V3Cars

Kia India have commenced bookings for the EV6 electric crossover ahead of its launch in the first week of June. The token amount for bookings is set at Rs. 3 lakh and 15 Kia dealerships in 12 cities have been allotted for showcasing and selling the first lot of the EV6. For the year 2022, Kia have only allotted 100 EV6 crossovers for the Indian market. We can expect Kia to allot more units next year if the EV6 hits off the ground well.

The EV6 is based on Kia’s new Opposite United design philosophy and thanks to its curvy proportions, it looks deceivingly compact for its size. Kia India will exclusively offer the EV6 with the GT Line trim. Some design highlights include all-LED adaptive headlights, connected LED taillights with sequential turn indicators, flush-fitting door handles, and 19-inch alloy wheels. The EV6 gets a charging port inside the right tail light casing that supports both 400V and 800V chargers.

On the inside, the Kia EV6 offers a curved panel which boasts two 12.3-inch screens — one for the infotainment features and the other for the driver instruments. Other features include a 14-speaker Meridian sound setup, electric sunroof, electric seats for both driver and passenger, 3-pin charging sockets, under-cowl storage in the centre console, i-pedal driving, electric tailgate, regenerative braking and AR-enabled head-up display. The India-spec EV6 will also boast a good set of ADAS features that are likely to be revealed closer to its launch.

The ADAS features on the global-spec EV6 include:

  • Forward collision avoidance assist (FCA)
  • Rear cross-traffic avoidance assist (RCTA)
  • Safe exit assist (SEA)
  • Blind spot collision avoidance assist (BCA)
  • Lane keep assist (LKA)
  • Driver attention warning (DAW)

The India-spec Kia EV6 will come with a 77.4kWh battery pack and a WLTP-certified range of 528km on a single charge. Kia are likely to offer two drivetrain options with the EV6 — rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive. The rear-wheel-drive EV6 produces 229PS of power whereas the all-drive-version delivers 325PS of power and 605Nm of torque. The latter is capable of hitting 0-100kmph in 5.2 seconds. The Kia EV6 is also capable of charging multiple appliances and other vehicles through vehicle to load (V2L) and vehicle to vehicle (V2V) charging.
