It is worth noting that the India-spec Meridian is very similar to the Commander that is on sale in South American markets. The Commander only gets the 7-seater configuration across the globe. Hence, the Indian market could be the first one to receive the Meridian with a 6-seater configuration. However, that will happen only if Jeep India see considerable demand for it.

At launch, the 2022 Meridian will come with a single, brown upholstery option. However, based on market feedback, Jeep India could offer more upholstery options in the future.

Jeep offer the Meridian with a flex-fuel turbo petrol engine in the Brazilian market. However, Jeep India has ruled out the possibility of a petrol engine for the India-spec Meridian SUV. The Meridian will only come with a 2.0L turbo-diesel engine. The Jeep Meridian’s 2.0L diesel engine produces 170PS of power at 3750rpm and 350Nm of torque between 1500rpm and 4500rpm. While the 2.0L diesel automatic is only available with 4WD in the Compass, the Meridian also gets the option of the 9-speed automatic gearbox with front-wheel-drive. The Meridian will also get 2WD manual and 4WD automatic variants.
