2025 Hyundai Creta Tops SUV Sales In March

The Creta’s success extends beyond a single month. It also secured its position as India’s best-selling SUV in the fourth quarter of the 2024-25 financial year, with cumulative sales of 52,898 units. Moreover, the Creta finished the entire fiscal year as the third highest-selling passenger vehicle in India, recording sales of 1,94,871 units and achieving a 20% year-on-year sales growth – its highest annual sales figure since its launch in 2015.

Hyundai credit the Creta’s success to its strong emotional connection with Indian customers. Notably, the top variants contributed significantly to sales, accounting for 24% of the Creta’s internal combustion engine (ICE) sales and a substantial 71% of the newly launched Creta Electric's sales. Furthermore, sunroof-equipped variants remained a popular choice, representing 69% of total Creta sales, while connected features were present in 38% of the vehicles sold.

The Creta's contribution has boosted Hyundai’s overall SUV sales, with SUVs now accounting for 68.5% of Hyundai’s total domestic sales in FY 2024-25, up from 63.2% in the previous year. The launch of the Creta Electric, offering a claimed range of up to 473km across 2 battery options, has further expanded the Creta's appeal.
