Exclusive: 2024 Maruti Swift To Get New VXI (O) Variant, No CNG At Launch | V3Cars

Considering the reliability of the information we have received about the new Maruti Swift so far, we have enough reason to trust the accuracy this time as well. Although, we don’t have a piece of collateral to share this time around.

The following table highlights the engine-transmission combinations of the upcoming 2024 Swift:

New Variant, No CNG

The most recent piece of info from our source confirms that the Swift will come in 5 variants. In addition to the usual LXI, VXI, ZXI and ZXI Plus variants, the Swift 2024 will also get a new VXI (O) variant. This is similar to the 5-variant lineup we saw with the Fronx, where Delta Plus serves as the middle variant for the car.

In addition, the 2024 Swift won’t get a CNG powertrain at the time of launch. Even the new 3-cylinder petrol engine is coming with an AMT automatic primarily for the Indian market. In many other overseas markets, this engine gets a CVT automatic.

Maruti Suzuki have paired and tested the Swift’s new engine with the AMT to work well in Indian conditions. However, the CNG version of this engine is not yet tested. We can’t confirm yet if the new Maruti Suzuki Swift will get this new engine with a CNG powertrain or not. But, it’s highly likely that it will be the case. Moreover, given the much higher demand for CNG bi-fuel option with the Dzire rather than the Swift, we expect it to debut first with the Dzire sometime later in 2024.
