Citroen C3X Crossover Sedan Spotted

The upcoming C3X crossover sedan was spotted on test for the first time. While the test mule was covered in heavy camouflage, it does not gives us a rough idea about its silhouette. However, since the C3X will be a crossover sedan, it is likely to come with a high ground clearance and butch styling while also retaining sedan characteristics like an elongated tailgate and tapered roofline.

The cut outs in the camouflage reveal a split headlight setup similar to that of the C3 and C3 Aircross. However, since the product is in its early stages of development, it’s hard to comment on its overall styling just yet. The crossover sedan formula isn’t new to Citroen since the French carmaker already offers this unique bodystyle in the European market with products like the C4X and C5X models.

Furthermore, the C3X is also likely to retain the same 1.2L turbo petrol engine that powers the C3 and C3 Aircross. In the C3 and C3 Aircross models, this petrol engine produces 110PS of power at 5500rpm and 190Nm of torque at 1750rpm. For now, this engine comes with a sole 6-speed manual transmission but Citroen are also reportedly working on an automatic transmission as well.

Currently, Citroen India are gearing up to launch the C3 Aircross in August 2023. The launch of the petrol-powered C3 Aircross will be followed by the all-electric C3 Aircross, which could be called the eC3 Aircross. Similarly, the C3X is also likely to spawn an all-electric derivative following the launch of the petrol-powered C3X in early 2024.
