Citroen C3 Aircross Automatic Unveiled In Indonesia

Unlike the India-spec C3 Aircross, which currently comes with a 6-speed manual transmission, the model revealed in Indonesia offers only a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. We reported recently that Citroen India will soon launch the C3 Aircross automatic, which will most likely feature a torque converter unit.

Apart from the automatic transmission, another change with the Indonesian-spec C3 Aircross is the higher torque output from the turbo petrol engine. While the India-spec C3 Aircross puts out 190Nm of torque with its 6-speed manual, the Indonesian model offers 205Nm of torque. The power output, however, is identical between both models.

We expect Citroen India to offer the 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission with the C3 Aircross and C3 hatchback soon. While the 1.2L turbo petrol is the only engine option with the C3 Aircross, its hatchback sibling also offers a 1.2L normal petrol engine, which is unlikely to get the automatic transmission option.

The fuel efficiency of the C3 Aircross automatic in Indonesia is claimed at 17.5kmpl, which is around 1kmpl less than the India-spec C3 Aircross manual. However, it is worth mentioning that the testing standards are likely to vary between international markets and hence, it is not an apples-to-apples comparison.
