Tata Nexon Features Rejigged – Select Variants Discontinued | V3Cars
Days after Mahindra launched the 2024 XUV 3XO with a starting price of Rs. 7.49 lakh, Tata reduced the price of the Nexon petrol-manual variant by 16,000 to Rs. 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Tata Motors also introduced 2 new diesel variants equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission with lower prices than the previous base diesel variant. Apart from these changes, Tata have also rejigged the features list of the 2024 Nexon and discontinued a few variants too. Read on to know more.
4 Key Changes To 2024 Tata Nexon
1. Smart Variant Renamed To Smart (O)
The base Smart variant of the Nexon is now called the Smart (O). Like before, the new Smart (O) base variant is only available with the 1.2L turbo petrol engine and a 5-speed manual transmission. Both the old Smart and new Smart (O) share the same feature list, so you get:
- 6 Airbags
- Electronic Stability Program
- LED Headlamps and DRLs
- LED Tail Lamps
- Multi Drive Modes - Eco, City, and Sport
- 2 Spoke Steering Wheel with Illuminated Logo
- ISOFIX child seat anchors
- Front Power Windows
- Reverse Parking Sensors
- Central Lock
- Hill Hold Control
- Tilt and Collapsible Steering
- Vanity Mirror on Co-driver Side
- Power Outlet on Floor Console
As mentioned before, the new Smart (O) variant of the Nexon is Rs. 16,000 more affordable than the previous Nexon Smart base petrol variant.
2. Lower Variants Get Day/Night IRVM
The other key change in the 2024 Nexon is the addition of a manual day/night inside rearview mirror in the Smart Plus, Smart Plus S and Pure variants. The day/night IRVM feature was earlier only available from the Pure S variant. The Smart Plus S variant also gains roof rails. Despite the addition of this feature, the prices of the Smart Plus and Smart Plus S remain unchanged for now. Meanwhile, the Pure S variant of the Nexon now features auto headlamps and rain-sensing wipers. Check out the benefits of a day/night IRVM by clicking the link below.

3. Mid Variants Gain Height Adjustable Front Seatbelts
The Creative and Creative Plus variants of the 2024 Nexon now come with height adjustable seatbelts for the driver and front co-passenger. This feature was earlier only offered from the Creative Plus S variant onwards. Despite the addition of this feature, the prices of the Creative and Creative Plus remain unchanged for now.
4. Fearless S And Fearless Plus Variants Discontinued
Until the latest update, the top variant of the Tata Nexon was available in 4 trims – Fearless, Fearless Plus, Fearless S, and Fearless Plus S. Tata have now simplified the Fearless range by removing the Fearless S and Fearless Plus variants. All Fearless variants of the Nexon get dual tone colours as before. Here are the prices of the Fearless variants:
