10 Features Hyundai Verna Gets But Skoda Slavia Doesn’t | V3Cars

The Hyundai Verna 2023 is the latest C2-segment sedan in India and it rivals the Skoda Slavia. In this article, we list 10 features that the Hyundai Verna offers but the Skoda Slavia doesn’t.

Features Hyundai Verna Gets Over Skoda Slavia

1. Height Adjustable Seatbelts

The top variants of the new Verna offer height adjustable seatbelts for front passengers. The Skoda Slavia, on the other hand, doesn’t offer height-adjustable seatbelts even in the top variant. A height-adjustable seatbelt lets people adjust the height of the seatbelt for better comfort and safety.

2. Rear Disc Brakes

The top-spec turbo SX(O) turbo DCT variant of the new Verna offers rear disc brakes whereas the Skoda Slavia offers drum brakes even in the top-spec variant. The availability of rear disc brakes improves braking performance, especially in panic braking situations.

3. Front Parking Sensors

While both the new Slavia and Verna offer rear parking sensors and camera, the Verna also offers front parking sensors. Front parking sensors give you an idea about the clearance up ahead and help in parking efficiently.

4. Electric Parking Brake

The top-spec SX(O) turbo DCT variant of the new Verna offers an electronic parking brake whereas the Slavia comes with a manual parking brake. An electronic parking brake cuts down the physical effort of engaging and disengaging the parking brake as it switches off automatically once you start driving.

5. Premium Sound System

The top variants of the new Verna offer a Bose sound system, which includes 4 speakers, 2 tweeters, a front dashboard speaker and a subwoofer. The Slavia, on the other hand, comes with an unbranded sound system with 4 speakers and 4 tweeters.

6. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)

The new Verna is the only car other than the Honda City to offer ADAS features in the C2-sedan segment. It comes with Level-2 ADAS features including adaptive cruise control with stop and go driving as well. The Slavia, on the other hand, doesn’t offer any ADAS features despite being more expensive than the Verna.

7. Heated Front Seats

While both the Slavia and Verna offer ventilated front seats, the new Verna also offers heated front seats. While heated seats are not that useful in Indian conditions, it will surely come in handy on long road trips to the hill stations.

8. Drive Modes

The new Verna offers drive mode select that changes the responsiveness of the engine and transmission depending on the mode selected. The Verna offers the option to choose from Eco, City and Sport mode whereas the Slavia doesn’t offer any drive mode.

9. Powered Driver Seat

The new Verna is the only sedan in its segment to offer a powered driver seat. However, it is worth mentioning that the electronic adjustment only works for sliding and reclining functions whereas height adjustment remains a manual affair.

10. Rear Windscreen Curtain

The new Verna offers a manually-retractable rear windscreen curtain that cuts harsh sunlight and reflections inside the cabin. The Slavia, sadly, lacks this feature, which should be standard in this segment.
