2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift – Mileage Compared With Rivals

The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift was launched in India on May 9 at a starting price of Rs. 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Swift hatchback rivals other B1-segment hatchbacks like the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Tata Tiago and the Maruti Suzuki Ignis. In this article, we compare the mileage or fuel efficiency figures of the Swift 2024 with that of its rivals.

2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift Vs. Rivals Mileage Comparison

The new Swift hatchback is offered with Suzuki’s new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder normal petrol engine that produces 81.6PS of power and 112Nm of torque. Maruti Suzuki claim the new Swift offers a mileage of 24.80kmpl with the manual transmission and 25.72kmpl with the automatic transmission. Compared to the old Swift, the new model is more efficient, offering a significant jump in mileage of 3.34 - 3.16kmpl depending on the transmission. These figures are about 14-15% higher than the old Swift.

The new 1.2-litre normal petrol engine makes the Maruti Suzuki Swift 2024 the most fuel efficient hatchback in its segment by a fair margin. The Maruti Suzuki Ignis, which gets the older 1.2-litre 4-cylinder normal petrol engine, takes the second spot in terms of mileage. The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios is close behind in third spot while the Tata Tiago stands last on the list of most fuel efficient B1-segment hatchbacks that are currently on sale in India.

The new Maruti Suzuki Swift 2024 is not available with a CNG engine at launch. We can’t confirm yet if the new Maruti Suzuki Swift will get a CNG powertrain or not. But, it’s highly likely that it will come with a CNG engine in the near future. Moreover, given the much higher demand for CNG bi-fuel option with the Dzire rather than the Swift, we expect it to debut first with the Dzire sometime later in 2024.
