The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift was launched in India on May 9 at a starting price of Rs. 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Swift hatchback rivals other B1-segment hatchbacks like the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Tata Tiago and the Maruti Suzuki Ignis. Among B1-segment hatchbacks, the Tata Tiago offers the most power while the Grand i10 Nios offers the most torque. All hatchbacks in the table above come with 2 transmission options – a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT.

When compared to the old Swift, the new model offers 8.2PS lower power output and the torque output is also 1Nm lower than before. What’s notable about the new Swift is that it makes its peak power and peak torque a little lower in the rev range.

The new Maruti Suzuki Swift 2024 is not available with a CNG engine at launch. We can’t confirm yet if the new Maruti Suzuki Swift will get a CNG powertrain or not. But, it’s highly likely that it will come with a CNG engine in the near future. Moreover, given the much higher demand for CNG bi-fuel option with the Dzire rather than the Swift, we expect it to debut first with the Dzire sometime later in 2024.
