Auto Expo 2025: Toyota X-Van Gear Concept Showcased | V3Cars

At the Mobility Expo 2025, Toyota showcased the X-Van Gear concept at the Mobility Expo 2025. It’s a van for those with an active lifestyle. Those who want to occasionally experience the outdoors but hate the limited cabin space of an SUV. There are also 2 more concept versions of the X-Van — the Core is a more family friendly version while the Tool is for those who practically live outdoors. The one showcased, called the Gear, strikes a nice balance of family-friendliness and outdoorsy lifestyle.

Toyota X-Van Concept Specs

Here’s what we know: Even Toyota haven’t made up their mind about what powertrain to offer with the X-Van. It will probably share the platform with the Alphart/Vellfire and allow them to offer it with a hybrid or electric powertrain depending on the demand and trends in the local markets.

Toyota X-Van Gear Dimensions

This, we do know. The X Van measures 4695mm long, 1820mm wide and 1855mm tall. The wheelbase details aren’t available right now but a quick google search tells us that the base Hi-Ace measures exactly 4695mm long. So, we could expect to see the X-van replacing the Hi Ace in future while offering a wide and spacious cabin even in base Hi-Ace versions. The width of the current Hiace measures between 1695mm and 1970mm depending on the version.

We can also expect the wheelbase to be identical to the smallest variants of the HiAce measuring 2570mm long.

There’s no word on when it will go on sale in India or anywhere in the world. In fact, it’s currently unclear if it will go on sale at all. At least in the current form, without a B-pillar, it’s going to have a tough time passing crash tests. The design looks clean and attractive and all but it’s not practical from a safety standpoint.
