2023 Kia Carnival (KA4)
Kia India showcased the new-gen Kia Carnival (KA4) at the 2023 Auto Expo. While the carmaker was tightlipped about its launch timeline, they did reveal the new name for the family mover — the KA4. The new-gen Carnival is already on sale in multiple global markets and we expect it to launch in India in the coming months. Kia revealed certain features of the KA4 that include advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), twin sunroofs, VIP lounge seats and 18-inch alloy wheels. The India-spec Kia Carnival is likely to continue with the same 2.2L turbo diesel engine as the current Carnival.

Kia India also showcased their all-electric, 3-row, electric SUV concept – the EV9 – at the 2023 Auto Expo. The carmaker didn’t reveal any specifications of the EV9 and its India launch is unlikely to happen anytime soon. The EV9 will go on sale in the global markets this year and its production-spec model could carry a few changes over the concept that was shown at the Auto Expo 2023. The EV9 measures a shade below 5 metres and boasts a wheelbase of 3100mm.

Kia Carens Ambulance And Police Vehicles
Kia India showcased their purpose built vehicles (PBV) based on the Kia Carens at the 2023 Auto Expo. The first thing that sets the Carens ambulance and police car are the reflective tape and beacons. Both vehicles get changes that help them serve their intended purpose as an ambulance and a police patrol or interceptor vehicle. For instance, both versions of the Carens PBVs feature higher capacity batteries to power medical equipment.
Both the Carens ambulance and police vehicles come with Kia’s 1.5L turbocharged diesel engine. It produces 115PS of power at 4000rpm and 250Nm of torque between 1500rpm and 2750rpm. It comes with a sole 6-speed manual transmission whereas the regular variants also offer the option of a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The Carens Kia ambulance and police vehicles could soon join emergency services across the country.
