Hyundai India and TVS Motor Company are exploring a collaboration to develop electric 3-wheelers and micro 4-wheelers for the Indian market. The 2 brands revealed the E3W and E4W concept vehicles at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The potential partnership between Hyundai and TVS aims to address last-mile connectivity challenges in India with innovative and sustainable solutions.

Hyundai And TVS Explore Tie-Up For Enhancing Last-Mile Connectivity

While a formal agreement is still under discussion, the collaboration leverages Hyundai and TVS’ strengths. Hyundai plan to contribute their expertise in technology, design, and engineering, while TVS Motor would focus on manufacturing and marketing the vehicles in India. The collaboration also explores the possibility of launching the E4W 4-wheeler concept in global markets.

E3W And E4W Revealed – What Are They?

Hyundai and TVS unveiled 2 concept vehicles at the 2025 Auto Expo: the E3W and E4W.

  • E3W: The E3W concept reimagines the traditional auto-rickshaw for various applications, including passenger transport, logistics, and emergency response. The design prioritises safety and practicality with enhanced collision protection, a flat floor design, and a long wheelbase. Hyundai is considering features like heat-resistant gloss black roof paint to reduce interior temperatures and water-resistant cabin materials to withstand India's diverse climate.

  • E4W: This micro-4-wheeler concept resembles an electric rickshaw but features 4 wheels and a wider windshield. It is designed for urban environments and focuses on manoeuvrability and functionality. Notably, both concepts offer wheelchair accessibility.

At the Auto Expo 2025, both companies expressed their commitment to innovation and sustainability.
