Most Notable Features Of Hyundai Ioniq 6
The Hyundai Ioniq 6 is the second model in Hyundai’s Ioniq range of electric cars after the Ioniq 5. Like the Ioniq 5, the Ioniq 6 is based on Hyundai-Kia’s Electrical Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). Hyundai have launched the Ioniq 6 EV in the global market with a host of new features with extreme attention to detail. For instance, the carmaker has designed the lights of the Ioniq 6 very thoughtfully. The Speed Sync Lighting feature syncs the car’s ambient lights with its speed. So, if you are driving the Ioniq 6 at 30kmph the ambient lights are at 10% and the brightness gradually increases as the speed rises.
The Intelligent Front-Lighting System (IFS) detects approaching vehicles and cuts off the high beam partially to prevent headlight flare while ensuring clear visibility for the driver. This is indeed a thoughtful feature by Hyundai to ensure increased safety. The Ioniq 6 also features Interactive Pixel Lights on the steering that indicate welcome function, voice recognition, drive mode, reverse gear status, ready-to-drive status and battery status. The Ioniq 6 also has the following useful features:
- Digital side mirrors
- A 12.3-inch infotainment system
- Column type Shift By Wire (SBW)
- Reclining front seats
- Level 2 ADAS
- Vehicle To Load (V2L) feature to charge other electronics

The above specifications are from the Korean version of the car. It is evident that the Ioniq 6 is more practical as a city car due to its better efficiency figures in the city. The Long Range 2WD variant with 18-inch tyres provides the maximum fuel efficiency. Similarly, the Long Range AWD drive variant with 20 inch tyres provides the best performance.

Hyundai Ioniq 6 Launch Timeline
We expect Hyundai to showcase the Ioniq series at the Auto Expo 2023, but the chances of the carmaker launching the Ioniq 6 in India are slim. Considering the chronology of the Ioniq series, Hyundai might first launch the Ioniq 5 in India.
Hyundai Ioniq 6 Expected Price
It is not very likely that the Ioniq 6 will be launched in India. However, in case it is launched in future, it will be placed above cars like Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 (Rs. 59.95 lakh to Rs.64.95 lakh ex-showroom). So, it will be priced a tad higher than these cars, which would be somewhere in the range of Rs. 65.0 lakh to Rs. 80.0 lakh.
