Most Notable Features Of Hyundai Ioniq 5
The Ioniq 5 has eco-friendly interiors which include plant-based fabric upholstery and eco-friendly leather. Hyundai have even used bio paint on the car’s interior surfaces which is made up of oils extracted from plants. In addition to this, the Hyundai manufacturing plant in Chennai is already running partially on renewable energy and the car maker aims to go fully green by the year 2025. This means, Hyundai will build the Ioniq 5 using renewable energy and being an EV, the car will also run on renewable energy. Hyundai have also added a solar panel on the car’s roof to extend the car’s range by harnessing solar power.
In addition to its sustainable features, the Ioniq 5 also has the following noteworthy features:
- 350kW DC fast charging support (10-80% in 18 minutes)
- Vehicle to load (V2L): Allows charging appliances using the car’s battery
- Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS)
- Magnetic dashboard with a 12.25-inch infotainment system
- Bose sound system
- Power-sliding rear seats
Hyundai Ioniq 5 Expected Specs
Hyundai have started accepting bookings for the Ioniq 5 EV. The Ioniq 5 has the following powertrain specifications:

Hyundai have revealed the above specifications for the Indian version of the Ioniq 5. We are yet to know if Hyundai plan to launch both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive variants of the car in India. However, the specs revealed are similar to the rear-wheel drive, which is on sale in the global market.

The Ioniq 5 will compete with EVs like Kia EV6, BYD Atto3, BMW i4 and Volvo XC40 Recharge.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 Launch Timeline
Hyundai have started accepting bookings for the Ioniq 5 and will showcase the Ioniq 5 at the Auto Expo 2023. You can book the car at any of the Hyundai dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs. 1.0 lakh. We strongly expect Hyundai to launch the car at the expo or soon after.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 Expected Price
The Ioniq 5 is likely to cost between Rs. 45.0 and Rs. 50.0 lakh depending on whether they choose to import it as is or assemble it in India.
