BYD India are likely to showcase the E9 electric sedan at the Auto Expo 2023. Let’s discuss the details like expected dimensions and engine specs, expected launch timeline, rivals and expected price of the BYD E9.

Most Notable Features Of BYD E9

The BYD E9 is also known as the BYD Han in certain markets and it is already on sale in European market. The E9 from BYD comes with a sleek design with a drag coefficient of 0.233d. It is a tad under 5 metres long, which makes it longer than the Toyota Camry and BMW 5 Series.

BYD E9 Expected Specs

The BYD E9 electric sedan comes with a 85.4kWh battery pack that powers either the front axle or both front and rear. The 4-wheel drive version of the E9 offers 517PS of power and 700Nm of torque. It does the 0-100kmph sprint in a supercar-matching 3.9 seconds. This version promises a city-only range of 662km and a combined range of 521km as per the European test cycle.

BYD E9 Rivals

The E9 sedan is a D2-segment sedan and if it is launched in India, it will go up against the likes of the BMW i4, Volvo XC40 Recharge, Mercedes-Benz EQC and Kia EV6. However, thanks to its ludicrous performance, it is also likely to compete with more expensive sedans like the Mercedes-Benz EQS and Audi E-Tron GT.

BYD E9 Launch Timeline

The BYD E9 is unlikely to go on sale in India anytime soon. We expect BYD to showcase the E9 as their flagship product at the 2023 Auto Expo to help increase footfall at their pavilion. Alongside the E9, BYD are also likely to showcase existing models like the Atto 3 SUV and E6 MPV.

BYD E9 Expected Price

As we stated earlier, we do not expect BYD to launch the E9 in India anytime soon. However, BYD may consider the electric sedan for our market based on the interest it garners at the upcoming auto show.
