The Mahindra Thar Roxx is available with 2 engine options: 2.0L turbo petrol and 2.2L turbo diesel.

The 2.0L turbo petrol engine with the manual transmission comes in 2 states of tune – one with 162PS of power at 5000rpm and the other with 152PS of power at 3750rpm. Both options produce peak torque of 330Nm between 1750rpm and 3000rpm. The third option where the same petrol engine makes 177PS of power at 5000rpm and 380Nm of torque between 1750 and 3000rpm is only available with the 6-speed TC automatic transmission.

The 2.2L turbo diesel engine of the Thar Roxx is also available in more than one state of tune. The first option makes 152PS of peak power at 3750rpm and a torque of 330Nm between 1500rpm and 3000rpm. This option is available with a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed TC transmission. The 2.2L turbo diesel engine also comes in a more powerful tune which churns out 175PS of power at 3550rpm and 370Nm of torque between 1500 and 3000rpm. This diesel engine option is oly available with a 6-speed TC automatic transmission.
