2022 Maruti XL6 Facelift - 5 Things We Can Expect | V3Cars

The launch of the 2022 Maruti Nexa XL6 facelift is just around the corner. Rumours suggest that Maruti will launch the new XL6 on April 21, 2022. Before the official launch, we bring you all the changes you can expect in the new XL6.

2022 Maruti XL6
  1. Design

The XL6 facelift will receive minor cosmetic changes on the exterior. We expect a new grille, as well as slightly revised front and rear bumpers. It could even get new design for the alloy wheels, albeit the same size as before. The headlight setup is expected to remain the same. However, during the launch of the new Baleno, Maruti announced that all Nexa cars will get a similar design language. Hence, the new XL6 will boast a tri-LED pattern for the DRL at the front as well as in the taillights.

  1. Features

The interior layout is expected to remain the same, with a new upholstery being the biggest change. We can, however, expect the new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system to make its way into the XL6. It will support wireless AndroidAuto and Apple CarPlay after an OTA update. We can also expect a 360-degree camera setup and a head-up display in the new XL6. Maruti have already confirmed connected car technology for the Ertiga facelift and hence, the new XL6 will get it too. We are also looking forward to 6 airbags in the top-spec variant of the new XL6.

  1. Engine

The XL6 facelift’s biggest change lies under the bonnet. The updated XL6 will use a new 1.5L dual-jet normal petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology. The change in the engine over the outgoing one is the presence of two injectors per cylinder. This not only increases power output but also helps increase fuel efficiency. We expect this engine to produce around 115PS of power, 10PS over the old engine. The fuel efficiency is also expected to increase thanks to the mild-hybrid and dual-jet tech.

  1. Transmission

Another big highlight of the 2022 XL6 will be the new 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. It will replace the ageing 4-speed TC and come with paddle shifters behind the steering wheel. This too will help increase the fuel efficiency of the XL6.

  1. Price

Given the additional features, new automatic transmission and dual-jet technology, we can expect a bump in the prices. The current XL6 retails between Rs. 10.02 lakh and Rs. 10.65 lakh (ex-showroom). Maruti charges a premium of Rs. 1.20 lakh for the TC automatic over the manual. With the facelift, we can expect the prices of XL6 to go up by Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 30,000. The upgrade to the automatic transmission could cost over Rs. 1.50 lakh.
