2022 Maruti WagonR To Get Dual-Tone Exterior Colour | V3Cars

Maruti Suzuki is set to launch the updated WagonR soon. Sources aware of the development tell us that apart from the various cosmetic updates, the car’s colour palette will also see the addition of a dual-tone paint scheme.

So expect a black-coloured contrast roof for the dual-tone variants. This move is aimed to enhance the visual appeal of the hatchback. Based on our previous spy shots, we can safely assume that the new WagonR will get many design changes at the front as well as the rear. Together, these changes will freshen up the exterior of the car.

When we captured the new WagonR testing on the roads undisguised, we were able to make out some visible changes on the outside. The test car had split-type projector headlamps and turn indicators, a new bumper with fog lamp housing, a new closed grille and updated taillights. The car also had alloy wheels, which appeared to be 15-inches in size.

We don’t expect the interior to get a major makeover. It will continue to be in dual-tone colour scheme with the layout of the dashboard remaining unchanged for the most part. While Maruti Suzuki is expected to introduce a new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the 2022 Baleno, we feel it is unlikely to be a part of the WagonR’s feature list.

On the powertrain front, the Wagon-R facelift is likely to continue with the 1.0L normal petrol and 1.2L normal petrol engine options. The former produces 68PS of power and 91Nm of torque. The bigger engine produces 83PS of power and 113Nm of torque. Both engines can be had with either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT.

With all these expected changes, prices of the new WagonR might increase compared to the outgoing model. Prices of the current WagonR start from Rs. 5.16 lakh and go up to Rs. 6.57 lakh. Maruti will launch updated versions of their other cars soon, starting with the Baleno facelift, which is expected to be  launched on February 23.
