Volkswagen May Reduce Features On The Slavia To Service Demand In Future | V3Cars
At the launch of the Volkswagen Virtus, Volkswagen officials stated that they have enough Virtus sedans to meet the short-term demand. However, if the semiconductor supply issues hinder the production, Volkswagen India are open to making changes to the equipment list and offer some stripped down versions to meet the demand. We expect Volkswagen to offer the option to retrofit the features later at dealer level.
Semiconductor shortage is looming over the heads of every carmaker globally, including our market. Skoda India also made some revisions to the features of the Kushaq and Slavia, to work around the supply chain issues and balance the demand and supply sides. Volkswagen may also carefully cut down some features to maintain such balance. However, the key stripping feature is to do it with surgical precision so as to not drastically impact the ownership experience.

Speaking of Volkswagen’s sister brand Skoda, we saw the launch of the Kushaq Active Peace and Ambition Classic, in an effort to meet the demand amid the semiconductor shortage. The Active Peace only remained on sale for a short while, but the Ambition Classic is still on sale. The feature set of the Ambition Classic is so well balanced that it is our top recommendation from a value-for-money and ownership experience standpoint.
