2024 Nissan X-Trail To Launch With Turbo Petrol Engine

Back in 2022, Nissan India showcased the fourth-gen X-Trail alongside the Qashqai and Juke SUVs with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine with a rear electric motor, giving it all-wheel-drive capabilities. It remains to be seen if Nissan will launch the X-Trail 2024 with this powertrain or just the turbo petrol engine. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine in the X-Trail sold in international markets is rated at 204PS of power and 305Nm of torque, while the all-wheel drive variant with the electric motor puts out 213PS of power and 330Nm of torque. Compared to its direct rival, the Skoda Kodiaq, the Nissan X-Trail produces more power but less torque. The India-spec X-Trail is expected to come with a single transmission option – a CVT automatic.

2024 Nissan X-Trail Design And Features

On the outside, the 2024 Nissan X-Trail will offer LED headlamps with LED DRLs, Nissan’s signature chrome grille, faux skid plates, chrome door cladding, and 2-piece wraparound tail lamps. It will get styling elements such as an integrated roof spoiler with a high-mount stop lamp, a shark fin antenna, and machine-cut alloy wheels. We also expect the X-Trail to come with a sunroof and rear wiper with washer. Nissan are likely to offer the X-Trail with ADAS and a whole host of safety features like 6 airbags, traction control (TC), electronic stability program (ESP) and more.

Inside the cabin of the new X-Trail, we can expect Nissan to offer a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Google apps such as Google Maps, Google Assistant and Google Play Services. We also expect it to offer wireless Apple CarPlay, ventilated seats, Nissan Connect telematics suite, and more.

2024 Nissan X-Trail Price Expectation

The 2024 Nissan X-Trail is expected to launch in India via the CBU route as current regulations allow car manufacturers to import 2,500 units without the need for homologation. Homologating a new car for the Indian market is an expensive affair and it ends up adding cost for the consumer. Nonetheless, being a CBU, we do not expect the X-Trail price in India to be light on the wallet. The 2024 Nissan X-Trail is likely to target another CBU SUV, the Skoda Kodiaq, with a starting price of Rs. 40.0 lakh (ex-showroom).
