Nissan Confirms Triber-Based MPV For Launch In 2025 | V3Cars

Nissan India have officially teased a B-segment MPV for the Indian market and confirmed its launch during the FY2025-26. We expect the new Nissan MPV to go on sale ahead of the 2025 festive season. The new MPV, which is based on the Renault Triber, will mark Nissan’s entry into the competitive sub-4 metre MPV segment.

Upcoming Nissan MPV – Exterior Design

While sharing its underpinnings with the Triber, the teaser images reveal that Nissan has invested significantly in differentiating its offering with a distinct design language. The front fascia receives a complete overhaul, featuring a larger, more prominent C-shaped grille proudly displaying the Nissan logo at its center.

The headlights appear to be connected by a sleek chrome strip, and the front bumper incorporates chunky C-shaped elements. The projector headlamp units, while similar in shape to the Triber's, now sport new LED daytime running lamps (DRLs).

While Nissan are yet to tease the rear design of the MPV, we expect it to reflect the front end with a bumper featuring a silver wraparound treatment. The LED taillights are also expected to have unique internal detailing, although their overall shape might echo the Triber’s. Functional roof rails and a fresh design for the alloy wheels will further distinguish the Nissan MPV from the Renault Triber.

2025 Nissan MPV – Interior And Features

Inside the cabin, while retaining the Triber’s key USP – a flexible 7-seat modular layout with removable 3rd-row seats – Nissan aim to create a different ambiance. Expect potential sharing of interior components like the steering wheel, switches, and possibly the central touchscreen and center console area with the recently updated Nissan Magnite SUV.

In terms of features, the Nissan MPV is expected to offer a similar equipment list to the Triber, with potential additions borrowed from the Magnite. We expect it to offer the following features:

  • 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • 7.0-inch TFT instrument cluster
  • Automatic climate control
  • Push-button start/stop
  • Connected car technology
  • Cruise control
  • Wireless charger
  • Cooled central storage box

In terms of safety, we expect the Nissan MPV to offer 6 airbags as standard along with electronic stability control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

2025 Nissan MPV – Powertrain Specs

Mechanically, we expect the Nissan MPV to be identical to the Renault Triber, which is powered by the same 1L, 3-cylinder normal petrol engine producing 72PS of power and 96Nm of torque. Transmission options will likely include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT gearbox.

The Nissan MPV will be produced at the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s manufacturing plant in Chennai, alongside the Renault Triber. While the official name is yet to be announced, Nissan’s entry into the B2 MPV segment will directly rival the Renault Triber and also serve as an MPV alternative to similarly priced hatchbacks like the Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios. In terms of pricing, we expect Nissan to charge a slight premium over the Renault Triber, which currently ranges from Rs 6.10 lakh to Rs 8.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

This new MPV is part of Nissan’s strategy to strengthen its product lineup in India over the next couple of years, with a Creta rival also planned for FY2026. The 5-seater SUV will be followed by a 7-seater SUV, an affordable EV, the next-gen Magnite and the new X-Trail SUV.
