Jimny To Get Dark Jungle Green Colour In India, But You Can’t Buy It | V3Cars

India-spec 5-door Jimny made its global debut at the 2023 Auto Expo and it’ll soon go on sale in India. Maruti Suzuki displayed the Jimny in a vibrant dual-tone neon green colour with a bluish-black roof and a monotone grey colour at the expo.

Nexa Jimny

Soon after announcing the commencement of bookings of the off-road-centric SUV, Maruti Suzuki released the specs of the model with all the important details. Besides revealing how big it is compared to its 3-door version and the fact that the Jimny will continue to get the older 4-speed torque converter type automatic transmission, the brochure also included its colour palette.

As per the brochure, the Jimny is available with two dual-tone colour options in India – bluish-black roof with neon green and red body colours, and five monotone colours – blue, red, black, grey and white.

Mystery Of The Jungle Green Jimny

During our recent conversation with Maruti Suzuki officials, we got to know that the company also plans to produce the Jimny in army’s camo green colour in India. This is a dark green colour that’s already available in the 3-door Jimny overseas. The made-in-India army green 5-door Jimny is only for military use. So, you may see them running on Indian roads with the white-on-black number plates.

Bluish-Black Dual Tone Roof Specially Made For India

Maruti Suzuki gave us an insight about the bluish-black roof colour of the dual-tone Jimny. This colour is not the usual Nexa Blue shade and will remain exclusive to the Indian market.

There are more colour options available in the 3-door Jimny in foreign markets like sky blue and beige, which are not available in India. Upon asking whether we can see some more colours on the Jimny in the near future, Maruti Suzuki informed us that to introduce any new colour in any car, it takes around 2-3 years of advance planning. This timeline, the company suggests, can be shorter for carmakers that produce fewer cars or models on its production line. Besides the various approvals, validation (from Production department) of the planned body colour is what takes time, say Maruti officials. So, you shouldn’t expect any new colour for the Jimny any time soon.
