Brezza Leads The Charge

The first vehicle to be produced at the Kharkhoda plant is the Maruti Suzuki Brezza. This choice underscores the company’s focus on meeting the rising demand for SUVs in the Indian market.

Initially, the Kharkhoda facility will have an annual production capacity of 2.5 lakh units. This addition brings Maruti Suzuki’s total production capacity, including that of its wholly-owned subsidiary Suzuki Motor Gujarat Private Limited, to a substantial 2.6 million units annually.

The Kharkhoda plant is a crucial component of Maruti Suzuki's ambitious expansion plans. The company aims to achieve a total production capacity of 4 million units per year by FY2030-31. This new facility joins Maruti Suzuki’s existing network of plants, which includes 2 in Haryana (Gurgaon and Manesar) and one in Gujarat (Hansalpur), bringing the total number of production facilities to 4.

Maruti Suzuki have invested Rs. 18,000 crore in the Kharkhoda plant, which will eventually have a total installed peak capacity of 1 million units per annum. This significant investment reflects the company’s confidence in the Indian car market and its commitment to long-term growth.

Suzuki Motor Corporation, Maruti Suzuki's parent company, has also pledged to invest nearly Rs. 70,000 crore in India over the next 5 years. This investment will support Maruti Suzuki’s efforts to regain a 50% market share in the Indian passenger car market.
