Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara mild hybrid offers an impressive 373 litres of boot space. The Grand Vitara strong hybrid, on the other hand, offers 265 litres of boot space. As the batteries are placed under the boot in the Grand Vitara hybrid, it not only compromises the boot space but also impedes accessibility of the spare wheel. In the mild hybrid variants, the spare wheel is placed inside the boot whereas in the strong hybrid variants, the spare wheel resides below the bumper.

Furthermore, the Grand Vitara comes with an unladen ground clearance of 208mm. The ground clearance is impressive for an SUV of its class. The Grand Vitara’s ground clearance is higher than the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor and even the Tata Harrier. The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara extends its lead over its rivals with a petrol 4-wheel-drive powertrain option as well.

The Grand Vitara comes with a 1.5L mild hybrid petrol engine and a 1.5L strong hybrid petrol engine. The former also gets 4-wheel-drive with terrain modes. The 1.5L normal petrol engine produces 103PS of power and 137Nm of torque at 4400rpm. This comes with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The 1.5L strong hybrid engine, on the other hand, produces 116PS of power and 122Nm of torque between 4400rpm and 4800rpm.
