The BYD Seal is available in 3 variants – Dynamic, Premium and Performance – with prices ranging from Rs. 41.0 lakh to Rs. 53.0 lakh. The BYD Seal’s prices put it in direct competition with the Hyundai Ioniq 5, which costs Rs. 45.95 lakh (ex-showroom).

The BYD Seal Dynamic variant is offered with a rear-mounted electric motor powered by a 61.44kWh battery pack. It produces 203PS of power and 310Nm of torque and does the 0-100kmph sprint in 7.5 seconds. BYD claim the Seal Dynamic variant offers a range of 510km per full charge.

The BYD Seal Premium variant is offered with a rear-mounted electric motor powered by a larger 82.56kWh battery pack. It produces 312PS of power and 360Nm of torque and does the 0-100kmph sprint in 5.9 seconds. The BYD Seal Premium variant offers a claimed range of 650km per full charge.

The top Performance variant of the BYD Seal comes with a dual electric motor setup powered by an 82.56kWh battery pack. It produces a peak power of 530PS and torque of 670Nm, helping it achieve the 0-100kmph sprint in just 3.8 seconds. The BYD Seal Performance variant offers a claimed range of 580km.

The BYD Seal’s patented Blade Battery technology supports fast charging. With a 150kW charger, BYD claim the Seal’s battery can be topped up from 10-80 percent in just 37 minutes. Charging the BYD Seal from 0-100 percent using a regular 11kW AC charger is expected to take around 8.6 hours.

All variants of the BYD Seal are offered with a battery warranty of 8 years or 1.60 lakh kilometres and an electric motor warranty of 8 years of 1.50 lakh kilometres, whichever comes earlier. 

BYD Seal Standout Features

Unlike the crossover styling of its rivals, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6, the BYD Seal is a proper 3-box sedan. Design highlights include an all-glass roof, 4 boomerang-shaped LED DRLs, LED projector headlights, flush-fitting electronic door handles, and a full-width LED taillight at the rear. The BYD Seal is 4800mm long, 1875mm wide and 1460mm high and has a wheelbase of 2920mm. It offers a boot space of 320 litres.

The BYD Seal Dynamic variant gets 18-inch alloy wheels shod with 225.50 R18 tyres, while the Premium and Performance variant get 19-inch alloy wheels with 235/45 R19 tyres.

Inside the cabin, the Seal is quite minimalistic in comparison to the Atto 3. Highlights include 9 airbags, a 15.6-inch rotatable touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, panoramic glass roof and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) features like adaptive cruise control, lane departure assist, collision avoidance assist, and more.
