VinFast VF6 To Lead Vietnamese EV Brand’s Charge In India | V3Cars
Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer VinFast have announced their plans to enter India's growing EV market with the VF 6 electric SUV. VinFast say the VF6 EV, which was showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, aims to become a significant player as it establishes its presence in the price-sensitive Indian EV market.
VinFast Aim To Accelerate EV Adoption In India With VF6, VF7
As part of their long-term commitment to India, VinFast have commenced the construction of a Rs. 4,000 crore manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu. This strategic move underscores VinFast’s intent to localise production, streamline cost and effectively compete within the rapidly expanding Indian EV sector.
At the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, Mr. Pham Sanh Chau, CEO of VinFast Asia, emphasised the potential of the VF 6, along with its sibling the VF 7, to “accelerate the adoption of EVs in India.” He reiterated the company’s dedication to bringing its sustainable mobility vision to Indian consumers. Mr Chau stated:
Our presence here not only underlines our commitment to the Indian market but also showcases our vision for sustainable mobility solutions and advanced technology.
The establishment of a local manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu further demonstrates VinFast’s dedication to meeting the demands of the competitive Indian market.
VF6 Design Highlights
The VF 6 stands out as one of the first VinFast models built upon a dedicated EV platform. This compact SUV is based on the brand’s design philosophy dubbed “The Duality in Nature,” which aims to blend bold aesthetics with everyday practicality.
Developed in collaboration with the Italian design firm Torino Design, the VF 6 offers a fusion of sleek, aerodynamic lines with a robust and urban-friendly stance. It features flowing contours across the bonnet and sides, while the sculpted bodywork suggests power without being aggressive. The distinctive V-shaped LED light signature firmly establishes the brand’s identity. The VF 6’s proportions also prioritise aerodynamic efficiency by minimising drag.
According to VinFast, the cabin too reflects the principle of duality with equal finesse. The carmaker says “The spacious interior exudes warmth reminiscent of a familiar living room, a refuge for families seeking comfort during daily commutes or weekend getaways.”
Highlights include a large central touchscreen, a cabin without too many physical buttons, plush seats and premium materials.
VinFast VF6 Expected Launch And Rivals
He VinFast VF6 is expected to launch in the second half of 2025. When launched, it will rival the likes of the Mahindra BE6, Hyundai Creta Electric, and the MG ZZ EV.
