In this August 2022 car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all B2-segment SUVs in India. We’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales, where applicable. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all B2-segment SUVs for the last 6 months will give you an idea about the 6-month sales trend.

B2-Segment SUV August 2022 Car Sales - YoY Change

Among B2-segment SUVs, the Nexon was finally beaten by the Maruti Brezza for the top spot in the segment in terms of sales in August 2022
The Venue and Nexon were joined by the Brezza in the 5-figure club in August 2022
The Mahindra Bolero was the biggest gainer in August 2022 YoY comparison, with a growth of 156% compared to August 2021
The Honda WR-V was the biggest loser, with a 38.24% decline in production in August 2022, followed by Mahindra XUV300 with a 26.26% decline
The EcoSport’s sales were down to zero units in August 2021, as Ford withdrew from India in September 2021

B2-Segment SUV August 2022 Car Sales - MoM Change

The Brezza, Nexon and Venue were the only 3 B2-segment SUVs with 5-figure monthly sales
The Brezza witnessed the biggest MoM increase of 56.52% in August 2022, followed closely by Citroen C3 with 50% gain in dispatches
The Urban Cruiser was the biggest MoM loser in August 2022, registering a loss of 53.44%
